3D Reconstruction

Converting painting into a 3D space

3D modelling of the watercolour drawing titled "Richard Trevithick's Railroad Euston Square 1809" attributed to Thomas Rowlandson. For some unknown reasons, it works better in Internet Explorer.

Neighbourhood of Steam Circus in 1808

A 3D animation depicting the main elements of the Steam Circus demonstration and surrounding landuse features, based on an 1804 cartographically accurate map of the area by John Tompson, Laurie and Whittle 1809 Map of London, and a drawing attributed to Rowlandson.

Please note that only the location and type of landuse features are accurate. Rest of the details are based on mere imagination and inspirations from various sources. The location of Steam Circus is based on the proposal by Dickinson and Tetley (1934); however, this doesnt't suggest that this research believes it to be the exact location. The dimension of the Steam Circus is approximately based on the information provided by some eye witness of the demonstration.
